The expansion of digital technology has transformed political power from institutional arenas into algorithmic spaces that subtly yet extensively shape public opinion, legitimacy, and obedience. In this setting, political authority is no longer determined solely by constitutional mandate, but increasingly by visibility, popularity, and the ability to control digital information flows. Islam, as an ethical tradition that conceives power as a trust, provides a normative framework to interpret and critically assess this transformation. This article examines Islamic ethics of power within the context of algorithmic political authority, emphasizing principles of justice, moral responsibility, and the limitation of power. Using a conceptual-normative approach, the discussion highlights the tension between algorithmic logic driven by attention and Islamic ethical demands for integrity and public welfare. The analysis suggests that without ethical grounding, digital power risks generating symbolic manipulation and the erosion of truth, which fundamentally contradict Islamic values of honesty and accountability. Accordingly, Islamic ethics of power can serve as a critical horizon for envisioning a more humane and responsible model of digital political governance.
